If you read the last post in this section, you must be aware of my visit to the Nyandungu Urban Wetland Eco-Tourism Park. I took a long walk around the park while blogging. At some point, I put my devices away and immersed myself in the ultimate ecotourism experience.

The last time I updated this section, I was sipping some water on the edge of Ihema Pond, found in Sector 5. After that water break, I walked back to Sector 1 through a different route.

On my way back, I moved a little faster because I was done studying plants. I even bypassed Ruhondo Pond without bothering to trace it. To see Kivu, Ihema, and Ruhondo ponds, one needs to deviate from the lanes. Muhazi Pond, on the other hand, can be seen from the restaurant.

My next thirst-quenching stopover took place in the Pope’s Garden, off Umugano Lane. Are you wondering why this piece of Eden is known as the Pope’s Garden? Wonder no more. While visiting Rwanda in 1990, Pope John Paul II celebrated mass in the area. There you have it.

Walking beneath the canopy of bamboo trees is otherworldly. It was a sunny day, but I could barely see any sunlight. Farther ahead, I peeped through a pedestrian exit and saw a scene depicting the hustle and bustle I had escaped from without leaving the city.
