Today, I am visiting the Nyandungu Urban Wetland Eco-Tourism Park. I have chosen to do this on Tuesday because it’s easier to take photos without violating other people’s privacy on a weekday.

In my previous post, I mentioned that I am walking instead of cycling. As I take my first steps, a young boy riding a mountain bicycle blows past me like a rocket. Bicycles and electric scooters are available at a modest hourly fee.

Behind me, some students are warming up in preparation for their own cycling excursion. Also in the mix are a handful of pensioners lacing up their walking shoes.

There are two marked lanes designated for cyclists and pedestrians, respectively. As the parallel pavements separate us accordingly, riders spin their spokes faster and faster, leaving us behind.

I mute my electronic devices and walk quietly without disturbing animals in their natural habitat. This experience feels like walking back to where I belong. In the words of Mary Davis, "A walk in nature walks the soul back home."

As I cover more ground, I will keep you posted. This tour is just getting started. Stay tuned.
