Kirehe is one of the seven districts found in the Eastern Province of Rwanda. The district is divided into twelve smaller administrative areas known as sectors. Covering an area of 1,119 km2, the sub destination is home to more than 460,000 people.

While in Kirehe, I traced the genesis of Imigongo Art and learned a lot about the legacy of Prince Kakira. On my way to Rusumo Falls, I had a stopover at the foot of Amabere y'Inkumi. En route to Nasho, I was awestruck by the beauty of Nyarubuye Rocks, Lake Cyambwe, Marenga Island and Mount Nyamurindira. In addition, I witnessed first-hand how massive irrigation projects are redefining agriculture. Making it rain throughout the year is a game changer.

Visiting Kirehe is highly recommended. This page is crafted to showcase accommodation options in the enchanting district. For more information and recommendations, do not hesitate to contact Afrika Nzuri.
